My Lhasa Monique, who is diabetic and recovering from a recent episode of vomiting and lethargy, is having trouble keeping her eyes open and sleeps a lot with her eyes closed. She has a slight infection in her right eye and a small cyst that may require surgery. Additionally, she is on an SD diet due to previous stone problems but I'm concerned about her protein intake. Should I switch her to a homemade diet, and what are your thoughts on this?

My pit/boxer just came back from a heavily flooded river bottom with a single, fairly large (3/8 x 3/16) puncture wound on her forearm that is swelling the entire leg and foot with a red area increasing in size around it 1 1/2" x 3". She found a displaced desert rat and attacked it. She also swam extensively in fast current with branches flowing by as well as being swept into thorny palo verdes and desert trees and bushes. What should I do about her wound?

My 13-year-old dog had ACL surgery last year and recently had her spleen removed. In the last couple of weeks, she has been constantly thirsty, panting a lot, experiencing occasional incontinence only when laying down, has a fatty tumor between her back legs, a poor appetite, and dislikes walks. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?

We have a 12-year-old husky/shepherd mix dog. She seems to be in great health, not overweight, and very active, but in the last two months, we have noticed she occasionally shivers with her whole body, including her head, very quickly. The shivers last only about one second and happen at least 3 times a day, but they do not seem to bother her. We are wondering if this could be a type of seizure or if it is normal for older dogs. Should we be concerned, and what should we do next?
