My neighbor babysat my 15 lb dog and put her harness on wrong, causing it to get stuck under her armpit and around her neck. She snarls and snaps every time I try to take it off. I have 2mg Valium and don't drive. How can I safely remove the harness and is it safe to give my dog Valium in this situation?

To safely remove the harness, try to create a muzzle using string, twine, a leash, or rolled gauze. ...

My dog, Carter, an 11-year-old Pomeranian Poodle, has started making unusual gurgling or squeaking noises when he breathes, about every 5th or 6th breath. He has a history of a narrowed trachea and regurgitation, and he occasionally spits up yellow bile. He is on Pepcid 10 mg daily for this. Today, his energy seems normal, but he has been making these noises. Should I be concerned and take him to the vet immediately, or wait until his scheduled appointment on March 5th?

My 11-month-old puppy, Honey, a shepard mix, has been sleeping all day, hardly eating, and looks very tired with a dry nose. She went #2 this morning and there was something else in it, possibly indicating constipation. She is usually active and goes on runs almost every day, but she chews on many different things, gets into trash cans, and is around other dogs a lot. What could be wrong and what should I look for?

My Chihuahua, Elsie, is in active labor. Her mucus plug came out 2 hours ago, and she has been having steady contractions since then with no result. Elsie is 10 years old and this is her first pregnancy. Radiographs show she is carrying puppies. What should I do?

Newly diagnosed with diabetes (3 weeks). We can't get blood sugar below 400. Dosage has been increased from 4 to 6 units twice a day. Did a curve all day. Low of 462 and now 710. Suggestions? Additionally, Katie has gastrointestinal issues, so a high-fiber diet along with insulin isn't possible. She also has frequent urinary tract infections, at least twice a year. She is a 5-year-old King Charles Spaniel.
