My dogs have been on Iverhart Max heartworm pills from May to October for 10 years. I heard that farm supply stores carry ivermectin. Can I use that as a heartworm prevention and is it the same as Iverhart Max?

I have a 7-year-old female Yorkshire Terrier who has been experiencing a urinary tract infection (UTI) and significant weight loss. She was initially treated with amoxicillin, but after developing vomiting from the antibiotic, she was switched to enrofloxacin. Despite some improvement, she still strains when urinating and her urine remains mildly concentrated. The vet recommended a 14-day course of enrofloxacin, but I'm concerned about the duration and want a second opinion on whether to continue the antibiotics for the full 14 days or to request further analysis after five days.
