My Staffordshire Terrier stopped eating about five days ago, now he's stopped drinking water and hasn't had a bowel movement since he went off his food. He's usually very friendly but now hides and wants to be left alone. I'm very concerned about his refusal to drink and constipation - and his breath smells extremely strong almost fecal like. Are enemas ever appropriate for dogs? Does this sound like a bowel obstruction? What would you do if this were your dog?

What can we give our schnauzer to calm him down when around babies, especially since we now have a newborn grandchild living with us? We have to kennel him when kids come over, and I already tried a trainer, but it didn't work.

My dog has been throwing up and not eating for 3 days. She is up to date on all her shots. She vomited this morning and has been able to hold down water. She has been taking arthritis medication and an anti-itch spray from Petco, which she might have licked off. She doesn't get into the garbage but might have eaten something in the backyard. What could be causing her vomiting and what should I do?

I took my 14-year-old dog to the vet today and he was diagnosed with kidney failure and pancreatitis. They gave him fluids, pain meds, and an antibiotic, and suggested euthanasia. I brought him home to say goodbye, but he is now paralyzed. Yesterday he was active, and today he is paralyzed. Is this normal?

My 14-year-old bichon cross had an episode where he made a noise like a dog hit by a car, became limp and unresponsive, then recovered quickly. He seems fine now, but could this have been caused by a nightmare, and should I take him to the vet?
