My teacup poodle is not eating, groaning, has a blistered erection, and blood is coming out of the rectum. He is not moving at all and I believe too much salt is part of the problem. What should I do?

I have to travel by boat for Christmas and am bringing my 6-month-old lab. We have a 7-hour drive to the port followed by a 2-hour boat ride, during which my dog will be alone and I can't reach her. Is there a light sedative I could give her to help her sleep and reduce stress during the boat journey?

My dog has a distended stomach on the left side towards the back, about the size of an oblong baseball. He has lost his appetite and threw up his food today. Two days ago, he visited the vet who diagnosed inflammation and prescribed Cephalexin and Rimadyl. We are concerned because the distension is getting larger and he threw up. Could this be a bowel obstruction?

My female miniature Foxie Maltese cross, aged 7 years, came into heat on 20.9.2010 and was bred by a male Pomeranian cross Shihtzu, aged 9 months. She now has an enlarged belly and is expected to give birth around the 21st of December. Will she have problems with her first litter, and should I take her to the vet to be checked? Additionally, should I separate the male from the mother and puppies after birth?
