My two 6-month-old golden retriever puppies were spayed this morning. They have not eaten or drank anything since surgery and have been nauseous and gagging. I'm supposed to give them a pain pill at 10 pm, but I'm afraid they will throw it up. What should I do?

My 8-year-old border collie mix has pituitary-based Cushing's Disease, diagnosed in January. She is on 10mg of Vetoryl (trilostane) which is controlling the disease, but she throws up after taking the medicine. I started giving the capsule to her half an hour after eating in the morning, which seemed to work for a while. However, yesterday she ate a lot of grass and threw up an hour later. I think the medicine hurts her stomach. What can I do to relieve her stomach pain while ensuring she continues to take the medication?
