My whippet injured her back leg and can't put any weight on it. She is restless and trying to change positions frequently. I can't find a local emergency vet and need to know what I can do to help her until we can take her to her regular vet in the morning.

My dog ate a box of chocolates and has vomited about 15 times. He is drinking a lot of water. We are watching him closely. Can Lyme disease or any tick-borne infection in a dog manifest as multiple different types of skin lesions and chronic irritations that don't respond well to repeated steroid and antibiotic/antifungal therapy? The dog began showing symptoms at age 2 and has had 3 growths removed, one of which was malignant. The human in the house was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis in 2012 and still exhibits debilitating joint pain. Is there a potential connection between the dog's symptoms and the human's condition?
