My Pekingese, Lacie, aged 11 years and weighing 15 lbs, has been scooting around the carpet due to an itchy peepee area. She has licked and bitten the area, causing it to bleed. I have cleaned the area with witch hazel, applied bactine, let it dry, and then put anti-itch cream. I also gave her children's Benadryl. She hasn't been eating as usual and hasn't thrown up since licking the cream. She saw the groomers last week, maybe they clipped too close. What else can I try until I can find a vet?
