Our dog, Baylee, a 2.5-year-old mixed breed rescue, has been uncontrollably scratching for 3 weeks, leading to fur loss and skin sores. She is on a flea preventative, but we spotted one flea recently. The worst area is above her tail, and she has extreme thirst but not much urination. She is also crying and not eating much. We recently returned from Block Island, where she swam in salt water. What could be causing this, and what steps should we take to help her?
