Our dog has been vomiting for several hours and is getting increasingly worse, even though she hasn't had food or water. We are far from an ER. What can we do to stabilize her until morning, or should we drive to the ER?

My 13-year-old diabetic dog isn't feeling well today. She ate half of her usual w/d canned food, had diarrhea, and vomited a large amount of brown liquid. What should I do to help her, and is it safe to feed her her normal meal later if she improves?

I have a 5-month-old Rottweiler who had 5 vomits in the evening and two episodes of diarrhea. As a family doctor, I would like to know how to calculate the dosage for Phenergan or Reglan for the dog.

I have a Gordon setter named Alder who is usually energetic but this morning he is lethargic, won't eat, and is initially unsteady on his feet. His bowel movement and urination were forced. I live on an island in southeast Alaska and no vet is available until the 19th. What should I do?

Our 2-year-old Lhasa has developed an odd behavior of snapping at flies in the air when there are no flies, and also shows aggression, which sometimes seems to trigger it. What could be causing this behavior?

My dog, Pepe, has a history of back problems and has worsened it by jumping a small fence. He is due to start Predicare tomorrow and is currently on Gabapentin for pain relief. He is not eating his usual dry food but is taking his tablets when wrapped in ham or chicken, and he is not drinking at all. My concern is that he is not urinating or defecating. How can we get food and fluids into him?
