asked

Our small dog is 16 years old and has been vomiting frequently for several months, sometimes it is clear, sometimes it is undigested food, and sometimes bright yellow bile. Is this possibly easily treated or considering his age, is it time to let him go?

My son's 1-year-old Boston Terrier keeps throwing up. We've taken him to the vet, had him x-rayed and ultrasounded, and tried vet-recommended gastrointestinal food, but he continues to vomit, including carpet fibers and lint. He's losing weight but remains lively. Could he have ingested stuffing from toys treated with harmful chemicals, and what further steps should we take?

My Shih Tzu, about 10 years old, has been yelping suddenly and showing unusual behavior such as being very still for hours, yelping and running to new locations, tucking in her tail, and fighting for comfort, then stopping for hours. She had a bowel movement showing worms, was treated for that, and given pain, inflammation, and antibiotic medications. Two days later, she returned to the vet with the same symptoms, had an x-ray with no findings, and was given new pain medication due to stomach irritation. She is now hand-fed and given water, but doesn't initiate it herself. Her tail twitches, and she dislikes it. What could be causing her symptoms, and what can be done to help her?

Our dog has a swollen right front paw. We cannot tell if the swollen paw is from a sprain from chasing a deer or if it is from a scratch that he kept licking on the tip of his paw. Any idea what it might be? Thanks.
