Rusty, a 12-year-old Chou, Corgi, Pomeranian mix, has been showing symptoms of diarrhea, loss of appetite, and unsteadiness. He has a mass on his liver and elevated kidney values. The vet suggested against a liver biopsy due to his age. My questions are: 1) Should we avoid the liver biopsy? 2) Could Adequan shots be causing kidney impairment? 3) Is there an alternative to Azodyl that is easier to administer? 4) What should we do as Rusty seems to be deteriorating?

Can a dog be allergic to Advantix? My four-year-old whippet started to scratch his neck and shake his ears continuously over the past four days after a dose of Advantix on his neck. A local veterinarian prescribed Lenisolone 5 mg over the next few days, without seeing the dog. It doesn't seem to help. Should I get something for his ears as well?
