I have a 5-year-old mixed-breed dog (1/2 Chow, 1/2 Carean Terrier) who becomes aggressive with groomers. I've tried bathing him myself, but he now avoids the bathroom. I have a prescription for 2mg Diazepam for myself. Is it safe to give one to my dog before going to the groomer's?

She seemed a little stunned initially but has since acted normally, eaten a little, not vomited, has equal and reactive pupils, and has a cold nose. She has a heart murmur and weighs 14.5 pounds. My dog, Teddy, a 3-year-old, won't stop biting his tail, which is matted and very red, possibly a hotspot. He has been doing this for about 2 to 3 days. Additionally, we found his fecal matter with maggots under the bed yesterday. We've tried telling him to stop and giving him treats, but it seems he can't control it.
