We have a dog who was hit by a car in a remote area in northern Canada. The dog's tail is infected, and it has been about 3 days without veterinary care. The dog is in pain and won't allow anyone to clean the wound. How can we clean the wound until the dog can receive proper treatment?

I have heard that Parastar Plus is more effective than Frontline Plus for deer ticks in Northern Minnesota, but I can't find any pet stores or vets in the central Minnesota area that sell Parastar Plus. They all recommend Frontline Plus. Is there a reason for this? Is Parastar Plus a health concern or problem?

My grandmother's new dachshund is showing signs similar to her previous dachshund, which included swollen spots around the mouth, inflamed ears with discharge, crusty eyes, and the development of large lumps. I have a senior husky with zinc responsive dermatitis. The vet prescribed prednisone and zinc methionone. I have prednisolone from a recently deceased dog. Are prednisone and prednisolone the same for dogs, and can they cause diarrhea or other side effects?

My 11-week-old 6-pound Sheltie puppy drank about 5 or 6 licks of coffee from a black cup before I caught him. He is a little more hyper than usual but seems okay. I gave him water to drink. What else can I do?
