I have a 15-year-old West Highland Terrier named Jasper who has been experiencing a severe, dry cough that sounds like gagging or sneezing, followed by relief. The cough has been ongoing for about a year or two, worsening with travel and changes in weather. He has a history of allergies and ear infections, and the last vet visit suggested it might not be kennel cough or pulmonary fibrosis. He is not on heartworm preventative medication.
