Can prediabetes be diagnosed using capillary blood from an at-home glucometer, or does it require venous blood in a lab? If I get fasting readings of 101 but my daily readings are usually around 80, should I get tested in a lab? Is capillary blood slightly higher than venous blood? If I fast for 13 hours, will that give me a true reading, or is that too long?
