I am a 27-year-old woman with no history of being an athlete. I recently developed constant left elbow pain, described as a dull, gnawing ache that does not improve with rest. I was prescribed meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory, but it has not reduced the pain. I stopped playing guitar as my doctor suspected it might be contributing to the symptoms. Despite trying to rest my arm, I often forget and use it for various activities without noticing an increase in pain. The pain is constant. My doctor ruled out heart attack and blood clot, and there is no swelling or loss of mobility in the arm. I work at a computer all day and often play handheld video games. What could be causing this pain, and are there any tips to reduce it before my appointment with an orthopedic clinic next month? How common is pain at rest with tennis elbow, and could it be related to cancer? My anxiety is high due to this situation.
