For 5 or 6 weeks, I have been experiencing headaches that worsen with bending over, coughing, exertion, or Valsalva maneuver. The pain is located above my ears and around the back of my head. My coworker, whose daughter has a brain tumor, questioned why the MRI was without contrast, as it might not detect a tumor. What is the benefit of a 'w/o contrast MRI' if the problem is headaches?
