I had a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago and injured my back pretty badly. I was taking medication for a long time. Recently, I got into a car wreck and think I re-injured it because I'm in a lot of pain and can't sleep or concentrate, affecting my work and everyday life. I would like to be put back on my meds until I can get the money to see a doctor. I have no insurance right now.

What is a transitional vertebra with partial lumberization of what will be termed S1 on the right side? It is noted as a normal anatomic variant but is associated with low back pain according to the Dr. who read the MRI. He also says comparison with prior studies will be helpful in accurately numbering the vertebra. Also, a rudimentary S1-2 disc space is present. Otherwise unremarkable MRI of the sacrum.

My mother (age 87) was bitten by an alley kitten while feeding it scraps. The cut bled but does not require stitches. I am concerned about rabies. What should she do? The cut was cleaned out and is fine.
