I have intermittent aching in my left front mid thigh, aggravated by twisting or rotating the leg to relieve the achiness. It has awakened me for the last 3 nights and continues on and off throughout the day, disappearing for months and then returning. I am 57 years old, in good general health, and overweight by about 50 lbs, but this happened when I was thinner too. What could be causing this and what should I do?

I have low iron levels, with normal ferritin but very low transferrin saturation. I've been experiencing symptoms like fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, lightheadedness, tingling, faster heart rate, reflux, and aches. I've been taking 27 mg of iron supplements daily for two weeks, and I felt better briefly but then felt worse again. Are these symptoms likely related to iron deficiency, and if so, how long does it typically take for them to improve? Is it normal to feel better one day and worse the next?
