My son has been sick since he went to college. He has lost almost 35 pounds since September and has had strep throat three times, pink eye, and now strep type C. His blood work shows abnormal results: WBC 13.3, Lymphosites 11.8, Absolute mono site 1.1, Absolute neutrophils 10.5, ALT 166. Could this be mono? He is starting to feel better from amoxicillin and his throat is getting better, but I'm worried about these numbers and the frequent illnesses and weight loss without dieting.

My recent x-ray showed minimal bilateral subsegmental atelectasis and trace effusion, with low lung volumes. I had the x-ray due to symptoms of a bowel obstruction, but the chest x-ray report mentioned 'Clinical Information: Pneumonia'. Do I need to follow up on this, and should I see my primary doctor's replacement while he is out of town?

I have been experiencing symptoms such as sore throat, runny nose, stuffy nose, dizziness, ear fullness, tingling sensation in the throat leading to coughing, and watery eyes for a week. I am currently taking AllegraD, Flonase, a steroid nose drop (azelastine), Singulair, and Zofran, but they do not seem to be helping. What could be causing these symptoms and what can I do to alleviate them?

I had my tonsils removed 10 years ago due to a blood clot on one of them. Recently, I've been sick with allergies/sinus infection and felt something in the back of my throat similar to the blood clot sensation. There is a red, pea-sized ball where my tonsil used to be. Could this be due to excessive coughing, and should I be concerned about it being another blood clot?
