My 94-year-old mother has right-sided advanced CHF and has recently experienced significant decline in her condition, including increased shortness of breath (SOB), exhaustion, difficulty standing, swallowing issues, and minimal urine output. She has been on home oxygen and has had two hospitalizations for vertebroplasties. Her heart rate is 90-100, and her BP is 137/75. She is unable to verbalize clearly and seems startled when spoken to. She does not want to go to the hospital. Does this fit with renal failure or end-stage CHF symptoms? Should she be considered for hospice care again?
