I'm 39 weeks pregnant and had bright red blood on Thursday morning. I was sent to Labor and Delivery for evaluation and was 1 1/2 cm dilated and contracting. Since then, I have had brown discharge. Yesterday, a large clot-like mucus came out, which I'm guessing was the mucus plug. Since then, I have continued to have brown discharge that at times is mucusy. Is it possible that labor is coming soon?

I am 18 weeks pregnant and experiencing contractions with tightening of the abdomen and sharp stabbing pain in the lower back. My contractions were initially 3 to 4 minutes apart and have now become irregular, up to 8-10 minutes apart, especially when I walk around or do anything. I am concerned about the possibility of miscarriage and want to know what I should demand from my doctor to help prevent this and ensure the health of my baby.
