I burnt the tip of my tongue on hot chocolate two days ago, and now it feels like it's waking up from anesthesia with a film-like sensation. The feeling started yesterday and is similar to when I've smoked clove cigarettes. It doesn't hurt, but it feels wrong. Could this be related to the burn, or is it something more serious? I also recently inhaled from a clove candle.

I had a C5-C6 fusion two weeks ago. During the follow-up visit a week later, an X-ray showed a large part of my C5 has detached and is now floating in limbo. Is this common, and what should be done about it? I am experiencing difficulty swallowing and am concerned about long-term issues from the displaced bone fragment and how the bone will heal where the fracture occurred.
