My son recently had a murmur detected during his five-year-old check-up, and an echocardiogram revealed a bicuspid aortic valve without stenosis or leakage. I'm concerned about the diagnosis and the reliability of the echocardiogram results. Is it possible that the diagnosis was a false positive, and how often does this happen? I've read that echo results can vary based on technician skill, electrode placement, and echo artifacts.
