My son, who is seventeen, is taking a protein supplement containing both aspartamine and phenylalanine. I read an article about PKU disorder and how aspartame can be damaging to people who are also taking phenylalanine. Is this combination of amino acids bad for a teenager who has no other medical issues? He is taking 2634mg of aspartamine and 706mg of phenylalanine.
