I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist and have had extensive blood work with normal results. I am currently taking multiple medications and supplements. What should be my next step, and could these medications be causing the elevated liver enzymes?

My neighbor is being sent for a biopsy to see if she has muscular dystrophy and/or what type of MD. She said her muscles have atrophied severely over the last 4 weeks and she has lost 4 pounds. Something seems odd to me particularly because she did have an eating disorder in the past and is on the drug Methadone for pain. I'm doubting the veracity of her saying she may have MD and wondering if her current medications could be causing her to spiral. How many types of MD are there and could there be other disorders causing her symptoms?
