4 years ago, I formed a serious romantic relationship with a gentleman who was 20 years older than me. He provided me with a new life, including a leased condo and new furniture, and promised to take care of all responsibilities for my home. He also provided me with large amounts of cash every week. I was arrested on criminal charges 2 years ago and he offered to pay my probation costs if our relationship dissolved, which I accepted. Recently, I developed health issues and discovered that he has Herpes, which he never disclosed to me. He abandoned me and my pets in March, leaving all bills delinquent. Is there any legal recourse for abandonment if we are not married, and do I have a legal case?

In the state of Massachusetts, is it true that if a person has been drinking and wants to go into a drinking establishment to make a phone call for a ride home, the establishment, by law, needs to let this person make that call to help protect himself as well as others, and must help if they can?
