A groom shop is being threatened with legal, media, and state action unless they pay a veterinarian bill for a scab that fell off during a bath at their shop. The customer claims the shop injured the dog, but there are witnesses who saw the scab before it fell off. The shop agreed to pay half the bill without admitting liability. Can the shop write a document stating that by accepting the payment, the customer agrees not to pursue any further action and waives all responsibilities from the business and its associates? Can the agreement include a clause preventing the customer from taking the situation to the media?

I got my name changed when I was 16, and I would like to have the court record sealed so people cannot find out my old name (I am transgender and am worried this might put me in danger), but I don't have a specific, legitimate threat of danger against me. Is it likely that they would allow me to seal my records, despite lack of a serious reason, because I was a minor? (I am in MD).

I appealed an order in family court where my former family law attorney sought fees against me based on the result of a review from the Florida Bar. I believe the venue should have been civil court. My current family law attorney couldn't represent me because he said this was a contract dispute and outside his scope and expertise. Civil/contract law attorneys said they don't handle cases in family court. What can I state on my appeal regarding the selection of venue? The judge himself wasn't even sure he was the right judge to make the ruling - he voiced that directly during the hearing, but then issued an order regardless. I don't want to pay him at this time because I am still going through a grievance proceeding against him for failing to file documents as promised and failing to show for hearings.

I am seeking to rewrite or write a motion to reform pleadings in a civil case involving a long-term relationship where we bought a house in her name. I contributed financially and through labor, and now she wants to claim the entire house. I need to include her abuse, my entrepreneurial equity, and her fraudulent practices in my pleadings. Additionally, I want to request the court to squash her answer based on lack of evidence. What are the proper legal steps and how should I draft this motion?

A woman I have been helping with bookkeeping, corporate taxes, and managing her store while she was hospitalized has been diagnosed with dementia and placed in a nursing home. I have closed her liquor store, paid some personal and business bills, and managed her finances. Her sister and sister-in-law are aware and trying to locate her will. I am unsure if my actions are legal. What should I do?
