I have been served with a summons from Butte County, CA, as one of 3-4 defendants in a case involving unfair business practice, fraud, and breach of contract. The plaintiff is currently incarcerated and I am a resident of Indiana. My sister and nephew, also defendants, were/are residents of Florida. I received the notice of this action on September 10, 2015, and had 30 days to respond. I am seeking guidance on how to proceed and need help in preparing a response.

Under FL Civil Law, does attorney/client privilege apply to a party who uses his attorney to interfere with ongoing agreements between a creditor and debtor, by communicating with those creditors in a way that undermines the agreements a debtor has? Specifically, if the landlord (interfering party) uses his attorney to make offers to creditors that undermine existing agreements with the debtor (tenant), is the landlord protected from admitting he made such offers through his attorney in discovery, especially if the offers were premised on a planned fraudulent intention?
