Can I be handed civil court papers out of state? I am in Nevada, but the papers came from Massachusetts. I was added as a joint defendant to an existing case in Plymouth Superior Court, Massachusetts, and was served papers in Nevada. I am looking to respond to ask for a dismissal, as I have never worked or lived in Massachusetts or Plymouth County.

I have had the same phone plan with AT&T for 7 years, which was grandfathered in after the plan was discontinued. I was assured multiple times by AT&T representatives that adding a phone line would not change my plan, but after doing so, my unlimited plan was changed, and I am now being charged for going over the limit. The new plan affects my ability to watch TV, use my laptop for work, and play games online. What legal options do I have, and how can I find a suitable lawyer for this case?

In Washington State, what legal recourse do I have if a manager allows a person in a building, particularly in a dining room of a retirement home, to keep a window or door open during cold weather, despite my complaints and the fact that some residents have impaired judgment due to senility or mental issues?

I was a recent victim of fraud at a Citibank ATM in New York. I deposited a $1500 check for a man who asked for my help, but the check had been tampered with, was not made out to anyone, and was not endorsed. Despite these issues, the ATM allowed me to withdraw the funds immediately. I've filed formal complaints with Citibank, the OCC, and cfpb.gov, but the bank refused to reimburse me. What are my options, and is the bank at fault for not detecting these errors at the ATM?

I bought a car in North Carolina, but the seller didn't notarize the title. I have a bill of sale that we both signed, but I can't get in contact with the seller. I tried to register the car, but the DMV said I need the seller to sign the title in front of a notary. What are my rights and what can I do to resolve this issue?
