Am I still legally bound to appear in federal court after being subpoenaed, having done a deposition, and subsequently quitting my job because I cannot testify in good faith on my former employer's behalf? Is there a way to be excused from the trial?

In Virginia, a close friend used tannerite at a party without an accelerant, while two others used gasoline to set off tannerite. All three are awaiting court. Will the first friend, who did not use an accelerant, be charged with the same felony violation as the others? If so, why? Is there a specific code for this, and is there a way to get the charges dropped or reduced for the first friend?

The victim does not want to press charges, but the case has been moved from juvenile court to circuit court. What is the potential sentence for these charges, and should we keep the court-appointed lawyer or hire a private one?
