How can I place a lien on my ex son-in-law's house in Kentucky if he owes me $40,000 and refuses to pay back the loan? I previously filed a lien but was coerced into removing it, and now he is hostile towards the issue. I have lost important paperwork related to the loan, including a document signed by all parties stating the debt and a power of attorney given to my daughter.

I.C. System, representing the State of Georgia, offered and I accepted a proposal to negotiate a settlement. I submitted a counterclaim to the State for payment, but I.C. reneged on the accepted offer. There is no lawsuit yet. Where should I file a suit for breach of contract, and in which court should jurisdiction be established, given that I.C. System is in another state (Minnesota) and I am in Georgia?

I bought a used boat in June from a dealer and have had nothing but problems. They had the boat for the last 6 weeks working on a problem and I got it back yesterday with the same issues. I am tired of paying for something that I have only used 4 times. Am I covered under the Lemon Law for this? I want to tell them to give me my money back. I am in Texas and have not taken any steps so far. They are coming to pick the boat up tomorrow to put it back in the shop.

I'm wondering if we actually have a case and if an action was actually illegal. Where are you located? These laws vary by state. I am located in California.

In a federal criminal case in Oregon, my son has over one hundred thousand pages of personal legal material in storage, including discovery, personal notes, and correspondence. He is now represented by a federal defender who refuses to transfer these boxes without photocopying them, and may share the copies with future psychologists or use them against him in future legal motions. Can the federal defender legally do this, and is there a way to avoid the boxes being copied?
