Can a city cancel a permit without notifying the owner in Florida? I had a permit to put up a fence two years ago, and when I called the zoning office to inform them that I had finished the work, they told me the permit had been canceled, and I now have to go through the process again and pay a fee for doing the work without a permit.

What are reasonable business lawyer fees in San Diego County, California, and can I argue that the opposing counsel's hours in the fee motion are exaggerated since my lawyer only reacted to their direct actions?

I live in an apartment complex on the 1st floor. I have complained to the management about insects, foul odors, and noisy tenants who leave the main entrance door open. Recently, my wife found a male sitting on the 2nd floor steps in his underwear. What are my remedies? Can I break my year-long lease and move?

I owe criminal restitution and it has been turned over to a collection agency. Can they attach my bank account, IRS refund, or wages? What steps can I take to prevent this, and can I file bankruptcy to clear the restitution debt?

I have an emergency sewer backup situation in O'Fallon, MO. The company I hired got their line stuck in our main drain, left us with a partially functioning sewer system, and did not honor a verbal agreement to charge only $165 for their services. They dug up my front yard, left a mess, and did not complete the job. The city is now repairing it for $350, which I had to pay. Do I have any reason to take legal action against the company?

I purchased a home in Louisville, CO in 2012 and refinanced it in 2017, taking $43,556 in equity. My final loan was for $378,000, and the home is currently appraised at $650,000. During the loan process, I was terminated from my job but continued to work until 10/20/17, and the loan closed on 10/21/17. I did not mention my termination when signing the loan papers, thinking my final employment date was the following week. I have never missed a mortgage payment. I received a call from my loan officer stating that Fannie Mae claims I was not employed when the loan closed. I need to understand the situation and what actions I should take, including whether I need to consult a lawyer to avoid losing my house or equity.
