Courtney P. asked
Can I be charged for Grand Larceny in Virginia for accepting a cash advance from an employer that I recently stopped working for? I was offered a $500 cash advance before Christmas 2019 to help get me through the holidays. I informed my former employer that I had found a new job and offered to pay back the advance. The former employer threatened to come find me and punch me in the mouth if I didn't pay. I have sent one payment of $200 and plan to pay the rest soon, but the employer is threatening to have me charged with grand larceny.

I paid an attorney in full to file bankruptcy for me, but after many excuses over a year, they never filed it. I fired them and hired another attorney who filed within two weeks and had it discharged a few months later. During this time, my husband’s paycheck was garnished, which did not happen before hiring the first attorney. Is this a case of legal malpractice?

I was named in a will to receive two vehicles, but someone else registered them before I received my stepfather's death certificate. What can I do?

My husband had a heart attack and was on full life support in a hospital in Florida. During his stay, strangers were allowed into his room, causing me significant emotional distress. I believe this was a violation of his dignity and privacy. I would like to know if I have a case for a monetary settlement and what steps I should take next.

I have filed an appeal regarding attorney fees in the 2nd District Illinois Appellate court. The Circuit court judge denied my request for a stay and continuance, and I was not allowed to present my case effectively. How do I proceed to ensure a fair opportunity to present my case, considering the judge's apparent bias due to the appeal?

If I visit a customer on behalf of a service provider but offer my own services (on the side) because I’m a contractor, and accept a payment for something else I fix on site at the same time, is that deemed illegal?
