If I pay a portion of my rent to stop eviction and sign a promissory note to pay the remaining balance by a certain date but am unable to pay by that date, what legal options do I have in Georgia? My intention is to pay, but I am unable to do so on the promised date. An eviction was scheduled but postponed because I paid half, and the other half is now due.
