I have a question about valid signing procedures for a prenuptial agreement in Maryland. I used an online legal service to draft an agreement. I created a document for a standard prenuptial agreement, and in the section where myself and my fiance sign, there are two sections: one for witnesses to indicate we signed the document and another section where a notary public signs to indicate that we are indeed the parties listed in the agreement. I'm wondering if it is required that witnesses accompany us to the notary public, and we all sign together or if witnesses may witness us signing the document separately from a notary public for the document to be valid and binding.
