Can you answer questions from NY residents? I have a legal binding promissory note from an old neighbor who borrowed $7000. I have the contract with signatures, pictures of her with the money, and texts stating she will pay me. She bolted shortly after getting the money and used it to pay off restitution from another criminal case. She also got caught stealing while living at my residence. I believe I can show she never intended to pay me back and that she duped me. The contract is up and finalized December 31st. What steps should I take?

A former partner stopped communicating with me. After several months of not responding to my texts, I deleted his music from a collaborative website. He had uploaded copies of his originals onto the site. He is now claiming destruction of intellectual property and threatening to sue. I maintain that the onus to back up his originals is on him, since they were all on his computer and not the site. He never communicated to me that these were his only copies. He also never profited or sold any of this music. Does he have a case?

I didn't receive an answer from the attorney Lori. A phone call was not received. If it's from a private number, I can't receive. What should I do?

The executor of my mom's estate lent money to her husband using my mom's money as collateral. Now he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and his debt was discharged. Who is responsible for paying back the $950,000 he borrowed, and do my siblings and I have to wait for the apartment to sell to distribute cash because the money invested and the apartment are all part of a trust?
