I took a plea deal for possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon in the second or third degree in New York State. A Glock-style handgun built from multiple brands of parts was found near my home, and some parts were traced back to my credit card. I was sentenced to 5-year felony probation, which is the minimum sentence in New York. I'm wondering if there was any way I could have beaten the case, considering the only proof they have is that the parts were bought with my credit card, and I was under the assumption that homemade firearms were legal.

I applied for a job and received a pre-adverse letter from the employer, but the enclosed letter and credit report belonged to someone else. My information likely went to the other person. Is there any recourse?

I am representing myself in an arbitration and need access to legal documents, specifically motions, to provide to the Arbitrator. The Arbitrator requested that I write a motion regarding opposing counsel asking him to strike my last charges. I am not an attorney and have not received a response from the opposing party. What should I do to obtain these documents and proceed with the arbitration?
