I am considering asking for a delay in my termination date. Would that interfere with my unemployment claim (submitted yesterday right after I was laid off)? If the employer agrees to delay the date without pay, should I choose a later termination date to tell potential employers that I am still employed or get financial support during that time?

Is there a statute or rule of procedure I can cite for a motion to restart a civil case based on ineffective assistance of counsel? The case is in Flagler County, Florida, and is in the discovery phase. My lawyer didn't file any motions I asked for, nor did he answer motions the other side filed, nor did he state any affirmative defenses.
