I am developing middleware that would communicate between external MIDI devices, external audio interfaces, digital audio workstations, and a game engine called Unity. I am using Unity's service, Unity Connect, to obtain advice from an expert on Unity on how to develop this software. I would like to continue working with this professional but also prevent theft as this software could be considered intellectual property. Nothing has been developed yet, so it is just an idea. I'm not sure whether I need to file a copyright on the IP or if I just need a non-disclosure agreement specifically designed for this situation.

How do we search for an attorney who can help us get the pain management my husband, who had a serious spinal cord injury in 1979, has been denied by his HMO since February 2019? We have filed grievances with both the HMO and the State HMO board, both of which were denied with no clear explanation. We need to know how to navigate the system and find an attorney who specializes in denial of required medical care related to pain control.

My husband was fired after failing a drug test at his private sector job in California. He had the most seniority in the company and was not late or absent. The drug test was conducted after someone found a substance in an out-house on the property, not in his work area. He had previously expressed a need for help to his supervisor, who did not relay this information to the main boss. Is there any recourse or privacy issue here?

I am in the process of negotiating a settlement with the defendant. My lawyer has sent out the discovery to the defendant. I told the defendant no need to answer the discovery and notified my lawyer to put the case on hold and do not incur any charges until further notice. My lawyer continued to send me bills for the following charges without my authorization. Are these valid charges? 1. A telephone conference regarding the defendant's request for extension to respond to discovery. 2. Preparation of Case Management Conference statement. 3. Review of the Court's tentative ruling regarding the Case Management Conference. Additionally, what is the minimum cost to hold or delay the case without dismissing it, and what other possible attorney fees may incur if I do not dismiss the case while negotiating a settlement with the defendant myself?
