I am in Spokane, Washington, and my ex assaulted me a couple of weeks ago. I filed a police report, and the detective informed me that even if I don't press charges, the state will, leading to my ex facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. I do not want him to face legal trouble as he has children and runs a large business, and he has left me alone without posing a safety threat. Is there any way I can recant my statement to the police or otherwise prevent the charges from proceeding?

I'm in Tennessee and my spouse and I are separated. He had our car towed, and his name is ***** ***** but it was purchased with marital finances. I have no income and a brain tumor. Is this a legal process? Couldn't I myself just go and have it towed back here? I wouldn't but isn't it just as legal as what he did?

I recently quit my job at the Bay Club in San Francisco to move to Texas to care for my mother with an autoimmune disease. When I resigned, I was told I didn't qualify for any benefits and was not given any other options. I also had unused sick and vacation hours. Should I have been paid for those, and are there any other options or benefits I could have qualified for?
