I am looking to retain a lawyer for my niece who was hit by a drunk driver on New Year's Eve. She lives in Minot, ND, and she does not have any experience in hiring lawyers. Luckily, she is okay but had to have surgery to repair her leg. She is a professional soccer player, so this is significant. Can you refer a really good lawyer in that area? No ambulance chasers, please. They are already hitting her up in the hospital. Disgusting... at any rate, please advise.

In 2013, I received a dismissal from a foreclosure based on CPLR 2219(a) upon consent, without prejudice, and the notice of pendency was cancelled. Is this dismissal with merit or without merit, and what is it called exactly?

I am a landlord in Texas with a tenant who has caused damage to the property, not paid rent, and the lease is over. I am scared to evict her because she has a judge friend and has previously instigated false police reports against me. How do I protect myself legally?

My ex-girlfriend is threatening to sue me for recording her without her knowledge in my own house and for defamation of character because she cheated on me and we work together. Can she really take action against that, and should I delete the audio recording?

I live in Beverly Hills and was contacted by the Pine Ridge Association Manager, Gail Denny, on 07/27/2012, regarding my alleged violation of certain association rules, including cutting trees on my property, planting vegetables in my front yard, and having a clothesline in my front yard. These accusations are false and without merit. This is the second time in less than a year that the Pine Ridge Association has contacted me with unfounded accusations. The manager, Gail Denny, indicated she did not know who called her, and it's policy that the person(s) making the accusations are not required to give their name(s). I feel this is harassment and discrimination directed toward me and my wife.
