I am the Director of Development for a nonprofit that has never had a privacy policy or terms and conditions. We collect personal information from visitors, donors, and financial donations. My Executive Director has asked me to draft a privacy policy, but I am concerned about my qualifications and the potential for continued information collection without a policy. I need advice on how to proceed, whether I need a lawyer to write the policy, and how to address this issue as quickly as possible. We are based in New York and collect information from people in California and internationally.
