I bought a car with a bill of sale, but the original owner took out a title loan in 2016, and the loan company went out of business during COVID. OneMain Financial now holds the lien, and the amount owed is unknown. I plan to contact OneMain Financial to see if they will release the lien. What should I know or say to help my situation, and once the lien is released, how can I get a title for the car?
