I currently live in New Mexico but plan to retire to Arizona in about 3 years. I bought a house in Scottsdale, AZ, about 3 years ago that is in my name and my son's, and I pay Arizona property taxes. My son goes to ASU, and I am financially responsible for his tuition, so I have to pay out-of-state tuition. How can I become an Arizona resident now to qualify for in-state tuition for my son?

Worked for a medical doctor who has not claimed thousands of dollars for years and owes the IRS a lot. He has a gambling addiction and his wife has a severe shopping addiction. He fired three of us after taking a loan to cover payroll and is now fabricating stories, claiming we stole his money. He filed false police reports and claims to have filed with the Philadelphia district attorney. We are all innocent. How can we get the district attorney to talk to us? Can we contact the DA directly? The private criminal complaints are all fraud. The doctor has a pill-popping problem, and his wife forges scripts and shops with stolen credit cards.

I was the plaintiff in a small claims LA court. The defendant appealed and was granted a new case. I was never served, had no notice of this until today when I got a paper from the court that the case had been heard, that I was not there and that the judge had my judgment set aside and vacated. What do I do now?

The homeowner was repeatedly asked if they were satisfied with the work and confirmed they were before writing a check for the agreed amount. However, they later stopped payment on the check, claiming dissatisfaction. Despite attempts to resolve the issue amicably, the homeowner became abusive and refused to pay. What steps can I take to recover the payment for the work done, considering the homeowner's hostile behavior and refusal to cooperate?

After using one law firm for mediation, can the same law firm be used for litigation if an agreement is not reached? If a law firm represents me in litigation, can the same firm's lawyer act as a mediator? If a mediation lawyer knows the defendant's lawyer, is there a conflict of interest? After starting mediation, can the defendant's lawyer or other party talk to the mediator? Does initiating mediation automatically stop court litigation? If both parties agree to a 'stay' or 'pause' in litigation, do they need to go to court with lawyers, or can it be done by phone?
