I fired my first attorney due to poor performance and he is now taking me to court for not paying his bill. My second attorney advised me not to pay the first attorney, but the judge granted $1,700.00 in attorney fees. After the court, the first attorney said I owe him $1,500.00, and now he is sending me a bill for $3,200.00. My ex-husband was supposed to pay up to $2,500.00, but he is not paying. What should I do?

I am a victim of fraud, and the individuals were caught and convicted. Customs confiscated money from them, and I have now received a Notice that it has been forfeited. I need to find help to write a petition to the District Court for my claim to part of the forfeited property (cash) that is mine. Are there templates or standard language/forms that are available? The Notice isn't very clear for a novice.

I want to dispute a room cancellation made by me, accepted by Comfort Inn and later denied. I need a phone number, address, and department to send my room cancellation dispute. The specific details are related to Comfort Inn in Sacramento, California, versus Connie Perez regarding reservation 7-16/7-07-22.

I’m a private caregiver for a gentleman named Jhon who lives in an independent living facility. A resident named Jack often accompanies us on outings. Recently, Jack asked me to take him to the bank, where he withdrew money. Later, Jack's girlfriend, Marsha, accused me of receiving $6,000 from Jack, which led to a police investigation. I provided a statement but am unsure what to do next since the accusation is untrue. What should I do?

I need to determine the appropriate governance structure for a social impact project, specifically whether it should be an LLC, Benefit Corporation, or Social Impact Corporation. I am based in California and have a prototype web app aimed at helping agrarian families find agricultural work and access other agency-based tools. I am unsure of the steps to take and would like guidance on the best entity type for my for-profit venture.

My wife received a letter from her employer about a garnishment from a judgment debtor. The Writ of Execution has her name correct but after reviewing the case online the judgment is not her. It looks like they filed an affidavit of identity to get the court to add her name to the Writ but she has never gone by the name on the judgment. Does her employer have to withhold wages if the name doesn’t match the name in the Judgment? How does she object on the grounds that the judgment debtor is not her name?
