I had a motor vehicle accident in June this year, which was the other party's fault. I live in MA, and the accident occurred in RI. My medical bills are being paid via my health insurance and my own insurance policy. The other party's auto insurance company is asking for my medical bills and records. My own insurance policy includes Personal Injury Protection (PIP) of $8,000, medical payments of $5,000 per person, and Bodily Injury Caused By An Underinsured Auto of $250,000 per person. What is the maximum amount my own insurance will pay for medical bills related to the accident, and what should I do if my medical bills exceed this amount? How can I find out my total medical expenses to date? Should I provide my up-to-date medical bills and records while still receiving treatments, or wait until the end of my treatment? What should I do if the at-fault driver at the time of the accident is not the owner of the policy?
