I had an incident with Target where a cashier called me a 'bitch' because I politely asked her to double bag my 2 bottles of bleach and place my food items in a separate bag. I live in Ohio, Franklin County. I filed a suit against the county jail because they took my Hijab (religious head scarf) for ten days. On the tenth day, when I went to court, it was unisex, and I was paraded in front of men without my hijab who were there for court from the male population (about 35 men). Can I sue in federal court under every civil/federal rights law I can find, or is there a prerequisite I have to meet first, like filing with the civil rights commission first?
