An HEB pharmacy technician took my controlled substance prescription from me before I recognized her and let all attorneys in Texas or possibly the U.S. know what I was taking. I contacted HEB and they terminated her, and I also contacted Health and Human Services for a HIPAA violation. I am a court reporter, and now before any attorney can use me, they have to be told I am on controlled substances, which enables me to do my job accurately. What legal actions can I take against the technician and possibly the pharmacy itself?

My son had an accident and had an SR22. The insurance company has paid out all they will to the other people including the hospital. Now they are threatening my son with legal action. My son is 45 years old and lives at my house because he lost everything due to the accident (car, job, income, and apartment). He is a recovering drug addict of 20 years and has '0' assets. Should he ignore the threats or look for a lawyer? He just started a job that I have to drive him to and pick him up from every day. He has agreed to pay the hospital $25 per month and has not yet responded to the threatening calls. His job barely pays enough to survive on, and I feel it is the only hope to stay off drugs. Any garnishment of his pay would lead to the loss of the job.

My boyfriend and I are not married and are expecting a baby. He wants our child to carry his last name, but I was told that she should also have my last name for legal purposes, especially since we aren't married. I was told that if she didn't carry my last name, I would need notarized documentation to prove she is my child for various legal and practical reasons, such as traveling with her or taking her out of school. How would not having my last name in her name complicate my life, and do I need to carry her birth certificate with me for identification purposes?
